PIE Day

I was just wondering why so many people were carrying cookies and pies in school today, when this girl in my class told me that today is Pie Day.

What is Pie Day?

Well, it's the 14th of March.

Yep that's Pie Day. Math classes celebrate this day by having a pie party. This is probably the only day that I regret not taking any math classes. But then, my English teacher said that she wanna beat the math department by having a celebration for something English, so as a homework assignment, she wants us to figure out something to celebrate for.

Someone suggested "Let's have a Za Day!" And she liked it a lot.

Three guess what Za is. Cookie for you if you guess it right.

No idea? Me neither. So I asked the girl sitting beside me and she explained to me that it's the slang term for Pizza.

And the weird thing is that it's being recorded into the dictionary.

Oh and not only the word "Za" is added. According to the news article, so are many other words such as "Chi" or "Qi", as in qi gong, "blog", "snarfing", "perv", even "duh" and "eek".

Although in the news they were referring to the Scrabble Official Dictionary, if you happen to come across any newly published dictionaries, make sure you flip through it see if you can locate "Za".

Well, Happy Pie Day. Well but for you guys it's already over...
Happy St Patrick's Day in advance! Although I have no idea what that day is for, only know it's got something to do with leprechauns in green suits...
